RIMINI, Italy, May 25, 2021 – USA defeated
Dominican Republic in straight sets 3-0
(25-20.25-21, 25-12) in a match between teams
from NORCECA Confedetation at the Women’s
Volleyball Nations League.
The Dominicans couldn’t count with one of their
top weapons in Brayelin Martínez who is
suffering from a strained left calf and is
day-to-day according to team sources.
The teams battled point by point in the second
set until 17-all when the Americans pulled away
winning three consecutive points and never
looked back.
Kathryn Plummer led USA with 16 points while
Jordan Larson and Jordan Thompson each
contributed 15 points to the victory.
Bethania de la Cruz and Gaila Gonzalez each
scored 10 points for the Dominican side, while
team captain Prisilla Rivera added 8. |
