USA edge Netherlands in five sets

EKATERINBURG, Russia, June 19, 2019 – The United States team scored a come-from-behind thrilling victory over The Netherlands in five sets 3-2 (25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 28-26, 15-9) on Wednesday.

The United States are now 11-3 and already qualified to the Finals of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) in Ningbo, China. Netherlands improved to 5-9.

Each team had five players with double figures in the scoring.

Andrea Drews led USA with 24 points, followed by Mikaela Foecke and Chiaka Ogbogu with 18 and 15 points, respectively. Kelsey Robinson and Tetori Dixon contributed 14 and 12 in the victory.

Celeste Plak led The Netherlands with 24 points, Juliet Lohuis and Nicole Koolhaas each scored 12 while Maret Balkestein-Grothues and Anne Buijs finished with 10 apiece.
