USA improve to 2-0 at U20 World Championships

KORTRIJK, Belgium, July 10, 2021 - USA outclassed Thailand in three sets to claim their second victory in as many days at the FIVB U20 Women’s World Championship. The Americans won 25-15, 25-8, 25-13 in just 70 minutes.


Emily Londot and Allysa Batenhorst each recorded 11 points in the victory, while Allison Jacobs added 10.


The USA had defeated Russia 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17) on opening day with Batenhorst leading the charge with 16 points.


Also on Saturday, Serbia defeated Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-17). The Caribbean side had won by default against Puerto Rico on Friday.


Aleksandra Uzelak and Vanja Savic led Serbia with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

 

Flormarie Heredia and Romina Cornelo each had 7 points for the defeated side.
