USA start winning, Dominicans lost to Italy

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, July 13, 2021 – United States started with a victory in Pool E of the FIVB U20 Women’s Volleyball World Championship after defeating Brazil 3-1 (25-22, 27-29, 25-20, 25-14) on Wednesday.

In Pool F, Italy beat Dominican Republic in straight sets 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-15).

Emily Londot scored 22 points for the United States, followed by Allysa Batenhorst with 15 points and Allison Jacobs with 14.

Beatrice Gardini and Giorgia Frosini led Italy with 17 and 12 points, respectively. Romina Conelio topped Dominican Republic with 13 points.

The Americans next play Russia and Netherlands while the Dominicans go against Serbia and Poland.
