BRASILIA, Brazil, June 9, 2022- The United
States men’s team made a successful debut at the
2022 FIVB Volleyball Nations League by defeating
Slovenia in straight sets 3-0 (25-19, 25-19,
25-14).
While both teams gave away 18 points via
unforced errors, the Americans dominated at the
net with 14 blocks against 7 and from the
service line (7-3).
Aaron Russell and Kyle Ensing each scored 14
points as the top offensive weapons for the
winners. Russell’s output included four blocks
and two aces.
In Ottawa, Canada, Germany defeated host Canada
3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 30-28).
Chrstian Fromm led Germany with 18 points,
followed by Moritz Reichert and Linus Weber with
14 points apiece.
Stephen Maar finished with 18 points for Canada
while Nicholas Hoag added 14 in the loss. |
