BOLOGNA, Italy, July 20, 2022 – United States
recovered from losing the opening set and went
on to defeat Brazil in the quarterfinals of the
Men’s FIVB Volleyball Nations League on
Wednesday.
The Americans advanced to the semifinals
following their victory 3-1 (20-25, 25-22,
25-23, 25-27) taking advantage of 28 unforced
errors by the Brazilians.
The winners led in blocks (7-3) and aces (4-2)
while the losers had the upper hand in attacks
(61-56).
Torey Defalco and Aaron Russell topped the
American scoring with 17 and 14 points,
respectively, while David Smith added 11.
Yoandy Leal led Brazil with 18 points, followed
by Ricardo Lucarelli with 16 and Darlan Ferreira
with 13. |
