QUEZON CITY, Philippines, June 18, 2022 – United
States women’s team improved its win-loss record
to 6-1 at the FIVB Nations League after
defeating China 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-21) on
Saturday. It was only the second loss for the
Chinese side in seven decisions.
The American side committed 22 errors to only 10
by the Chinese but they made up for that
disadvantage with leads in attacks (50-35),
blocks (7-5) and serves (8-3).
Kathryn Plummer’s 20 points spearheaded the
United States attack, followed by Kelsey
Robinson and Haleigh Washington with 15 and 11,
respectively. The left-handed setter and Captain
Micha Hancock had three of the eight aces landed
by the winners.
Li Yingying and Xiangyu Gong were the best
scorers for China team with 13 and 11 points,
respectively. |
