USA, Canada, Cuba and Mexico Advance

to Men’s Semifinals in Juan Dolio

 

JUAN DOLIO, Dominican Republic, June 20, 2026. – Teams from the United States, Canada, Cuba and Mexico secured places in the men’s semifinals of the sixth stage of the 2026 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour on Saturday at Juan Dolio Beach.

 

The first semifinal will feature the United States and Canada after both teams knocked out Dominican Republic pairs in the quarterfinals. Americans Lev Priima and Diego Pérez defeated Alexander Wilmore and Ramón De Jesús 2-0 (21-8, 21-18), while Canadians Rouzbeh Rahnavard and Robert Kemp advanced with a 21-9, 21-17 victory over Hayerling De Jesús and Oscar Martínez.

 

Cuba’s Eblis Veranes and Damián Gómez continued their strong run by eliminating Saint Kitts and Nevis’ Zendai Richards and Julián Bristol 2-0 (21-14, 21-8). They will take on Mexico’s Antonio Lares and Carlos Ayala, who rallied from a set down to overcome Puerto Rico’s William and Daniel Rivera 2-1 (17-21, 21-18, 15-10).

 

In the classification matches for positions 9–12, Guatemala’s Edgar Maldonado and José Izaguirre defeated Barbados’ Joshua Ashby and Cael Greenidge 2-0 (21-11, 21-13), while Costa Rica’s Julián Araya and Yulius Brown earned a 2-0 (21-14, 21-10) victory over Honduras’ Irving Reyes and Jairo Gálvez.

 

For positions 13–16, Cayman Islands’ Jesario Ebanks and Dylan Lynee defeated Bermuda’s Kyle Hamilton and Sean Tucker 2-0 (21-16, 21-8), while Trinidad and Tobago’s Daynte Stewart and Daneil Williams swept the U.S. Virgin Islands’ Jared Brown and Cole Sommer 2-0 (21-5, 21-6).

 

Competition resumes Sunday at 8:45 a.m. local time with the remaining classification matches and semifinal round, before concluding later in the day with the bronze medal match and championship final.
