SPANISH TOWN, Jamaica, July 25, 2019 - United States Virgin
Islands (USVI) advanced to the semi-finals of the Caribbean
Zonal Volleyball Association girls' Under-18 tournament with a
3-1 victory over Guadeloupe on Thursday at GC Foster College of
Physical Education and Sport.

Trinidad and Tobago defeated Jamaica 3-0 to advance to the
semi-finals of the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association girls'
Under-18 tournament at GC Foster College Thursday evening.
The Trinidadians dominated their opponents all areas of the
sport, as the host offered little resistance and eventually
succumbed with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-13.
Trinidad and Tobago will play Suriname in one semi-final with
Barbados meeting the United States Virgin Island (USVI) in the
other. Both will be played on Friday morning at the same venue.
Jamaica's best set of the match was the first in which they
started slowly but recuperated in the middle and at the end to
put respectability to the score.
In the second and third set, however, despite the egging of the
crowd, the Jamaicans faltered badly, giving up unforced errors
with serves and spikes and also left a number of balls, which
dropped inside the court. |
