Unbeaten Teams Hold Firm in Women's Beach

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 27, 2026. – El Salvador,
Cuba and Guatemala all preserved unbeaten records on Monday, as
the preliminary round of the women's beach volleyball tournament
at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo
2026 continued at the Malecón in Santo Domingo.
In Group A, the Salvadoran duo of Karla Tovar and Daniela Vigil
remained undefeated after defeating Vernecia Caines and Verneeci
Caines of the U.S. Virgin Islands 2-0 (21-12, 21-13), while
Nelissa Ramírez and Clara Sabal of Belize defeated Luna Ebanks
and Joanna Robinson of the Cayman Islands 2-0 (21-16, 21-15).
In Group B, the Cuban pair Maykelin Drik/Kailin Garrido remain
undefeated with a 2-0 record, defeating Marcela Araya/Eugenia
Ramírez of Costa Rica 2-0 (22-20, 21-17), while Karine
Francois/Carole Herve of Martinique defeated Shajunee Gumbs/Jontelle
Hensley of St. Kitts & Nevis 2-0 (21-6, 21-17).
Paola Alvarado/Naomi Monney of Guatemala also maintained their
undefeated record in Group C, with a victory over Reizel Bruhier/Shanna
Rivera of Honduras 2-0 (21-9, 21-15), while Malika Davidson/Apphia
Glasgow of Trinidad and Tobago defeated Grenada’s Thornia
Mitchell/Renisha Stafford 2-0 (21-16, 21-19).
In Group D, Natalie Gazzard/Megan Hands of Bermudas defeated
Jamaica's Jillian Johnson/Kristina Lumsden-Miller 2-0 (21-10,
21-15).
