United States Wins Fourth Straight Women’s U21
Pan American Cup Title
COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 12, 2026. – The United States defeated
Canada in straight sets, 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-21), to capture
the gold medal and secure its fourth consecutive title—and fifth
overall—at the NORCECA U21 Women’s Pan American Volleyball Cup,
which concluded successfully at the Covelli Center in Columbus,
Ohio.
The victory extended the United States' perfect record in the
competition, as the Americans have claimed the gold medal in
every edition they have contested. Canada, meanwhile, celebrated
its first-ever medal in the tournament with a historic
silver-medal finish.
The Americans controlled the match behind a balanced offensive
performance, leading Canada in attacks (42-27), blocks (9-5),
and service aces (7-4). Although Canada mounted its strongest
challenge in the third set, the United States remained composed
to close out the match in straight sets.
Suliane Davis led the champions with 21 points. Payton Petersen
added 12, while Manaia Ogbechie and Henley Anderson each
contributed nine points.
For Canada, Logan King paced the offense with eight points,
followed by Emerson Matthews and Carmen Waye, who finished with
seven points apiece.
Tama Miyashiro, United States head coach: "I think it was
another exciting match for us. We had a good game plan, and
these young women take it very seriously every time they wear
the USA jersey. Canada is a strong team, but we were able to
figure them out and finish the match."
Matthew Krueger, Canada head coach: "I think the United States
played very strongly today. They applied pressure right from the
start, and it took us some time to figure out their game. Once
we did, we showed that we are a team capable of competing with
the best. I'm very proud of my team. These athletes proved
throughout the tournament that they can compete against the
world's top teams. We earned our first medal in this event—not
the one we wanted, but an achievement is still an achievement."
