Men's Beach Volleyball final

ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay, August 21, 2025.- The United States and Brazil will play for the gold medal in men’s beach volleyball at the II Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025, after defeating Venezuela and Argentina in semifinals, respectively, at the Pynandí Stadium of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee.

Gage Basey and Thomas Hurst defeated the Venezuelan pair of Enyenser Delgado and Juliangel Zaid 2-1 (22-24, 21-16, 15-11), in a spectacular semifinal in which the Americans had to give their all to overcome the South Americans.

The other semifinal, a South American classic, went to Brazil with Isac Farias and José Jonathan Heleno de Menezes, who managed to prevail in two tight sets (23-21, 22-20) over the Argentinians Marcos Ezequiel González and Fausto Inostroza.

The final of the tournament will be played this Friday, August 22, starting at 7:00 p.m. (local time), while Venezuela and Argentina will be playing for the bronze medal at 5:00 p.m. (local time).

The victories of the United States and Brazil automatically qualify both teams for the Pan American Games Lima 2027, since the regulations state that the champion of this tournament, and the best ranked team from the confederation that does not win the title, will qualify for the event.

In the matches for positions 5 to 8, Damián Gómez/Eblis Veranes (CUB) defeated Mikhail Cuadrado/Luciano Fernández (URU) 2-0 (21-12, 22-20); and David Chaput/Cameron McGregor (CAN) beat Yoel Guardado/Christopher Guardado (ESA) 2-0 (25-23, 21-17). Now, on August 22, Damián Gómez/Eblis Veranes (CUB) will face David Chaput/Cameron McGregor (CAN) for fifth place, and for seventh place Mikhail Cuadrado/Luciano Fernández (URU) will face the Guardado brothers from El Salvador.
