United States claim seventh victory
LINCOLN, Nebraska, June 5, 2019 – United States swept Germany
3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-18) improving their win-loss record to 7-1
in the 2019 FIVB Women’s League of Nations.
The USA team now share the first place in the standings with
Turkey and Italy with one more match to play in the third round
of the competition.
Kelsey Robinson scored 18 points, including 4 blocks and three
aces, as the best offensive force of USA followed by Jordan
Thompson and Mikaela Foecke who finished with 14 points apiece.
Nele Barber with 15 points and Lena Stigrot with 10 were the
only members of the German team who reached double figures.
USA played text-book volleyball dominating from start to finish.
They led in attacks (41-38), blocks (10-7) and aces (11-3). The
winners gave away only 10 points via errors compared to 14 by
Germany. |
