USA coach Karch Kiraly coach: "The Dominican Republic has
been playing better in recent competitions. They played
better in the Volleyball Nations League and the Tokyo
Volleyball Qualification Tournament. They have a chance to
make the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. I’m happy that we responded to
a disappointing loss with good volleyball. We look forward
to playing Russia next.
Dominican Republic coach Marcos Kwiek: "We are in the same
region as the USA and the Dominican Republic have played
many times, so we know them well. We had good concentration
in the first and second sets. Our service was not good in
the third set and the USA served well, and we ended up with
this result."
