United States, GOLD Medal in Men’s Beach
Volleyball at the Junior Pan American Games
ASUNCIÓN, Paraguay, August 22, 2025. The United States won the gold
medal in men’s beach volleyball at the II Junior Pan American Games
Asunción 2025, by defeating Brazil in the final this Friday at the
Pynandí Stadium of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee.
The United States, with Gage Basey and Thomas Hurst, won the gold
medal by defeating Isac Farias and José Jonathan Heleno de Menezes
of Brazil 2 sets to 1. The Americans comfortably won the first set
(21-11), the Brazilians recovered in the second set (21-16), leaving
everything to the tie-break, in which the Stars and Stripes took the
victory 15-7.
With the title achieved, the United States secured their
qualification for the Pan American Games Lima 2027. Brazil also
qualified, since the tournament awarded two tickets to the event:
the first to the champion, and the second to the best-ranked team of
the Confederation that did not win the title.
The bronze medal match was quite exciting. Enyenser Delgado and
Juliangel Zaid of Venezuela came from behind to defeat Argentina’s
Marcos Ezequiel González and Fausto Inostroza 2 sets to 1 (13-21,
21-16, 15-10) and thus take third place in the tournament and step
onto the podium.
