VIS Seminar opens in Trinidad & Tobago
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, November 26, 2013 – An International
VIS Seminar is currently taking place in Trinidad & Tobago with
18 participants hailing from Anguilla, Aruba, Dutch St Marteen,
French St Martin, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Suriname and
Trinidad & Tobago.
Diego Soler of Argentina is the instructor of the seminar with
the assistance of Shane Roachford.
The opening ceremony was held at the VIP Room of the Hasely
Crawford Stadium in the presence of Nelson Ramirez, director of
the FIVB Regional Development Volleyball Center in the Dominican
Republic, which is coordinating the seminar.
Ramirez highlighted the importance of celebrating courses and
seminars out of the development center to give more
opportunities of participation to the regional coaches through
the scholarships program sponsored by NORCECA Confederation.
Mushtaque Mohamed, President of CAZOVA and NORCECA Development
Commission, emphasized the importance of VIS information as a
tool for the media.
“It provides information so that the journalists can us for
their stories with statistics that will give the reader a vivid
view of the game,” Mohamed said.
He encouraged the participants to promote the use of VIS during
the national tournaments in their respective countries.
“VIS also can be used by coaches to follow the evolution and
technical performance of team and individual performances,” he
added.
The ceremony was also attended by Daymian Steward, president of
Trinidad & Tobago Volleyball Federation, Yohanna Mota Moreno,
vice director of the Development Center, and Bienvenido Mateo,
member of the VIS Commission. |
