Valencianas Secure Four-Set Victory

and Move Closer to Fifth Place

COROZAL, Puerto Rico, March 11, 2026 – In the only match of Wednesday’s schedule in the Women’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSF), the Valencianas de Juncos collected the three available points after defeating the Pinkin de Corozal 3-1 (25-23, 25-16, 20-25, 30-28) at the legendary Carmen Z. Figueroa court.

With the victory, the Valencianas move closer to fifth place in the standings, improving their record to 6-13 with 18 points, just one step behind the Leonas de Ponce, who currently hold a 6-11 record and 19 accumulated points.

With Juncos leading two sets to one, the fourth set became the most tightly contested of the night, extending into extra points. In the closing moments, consecutive ties were recorded from point 20 through 28. Jordan Iliff of the Pinkin attacked effectively from zone two to keep her team alive, but a decisive spike by Leandra Mangual from zone four, combined with an error by Iliff on a zone-two attack, sealed the victory for the Valencianas.

Corozal had two opportunities to close the set, holding advantages of 25-24 and 27-26, but failed to convert and force a decisive fifth set.

The Pinkin did not earn any points and remain in third place in the standings, now with a 9-9 record and 27 accumulated points.

The Valencianas’ offense was distributed among Haley Bush, who led with 21 points, followed by Leandra Mangual (16), Naya Gross (15), and Marcelle Báez (11).

Juncos outperformed Corozal in attacks (54-45), blocks (15-14), service aces (5-2), digs (104-89), receptions (45-43), and assists (26-11).

For Corozal, Ivania Ortiz contributed 17 points, while Jordan Iliff and Adriana Rodríguez added 11 points each.

LVSF action continues Thursday, March 12, with the Leonas de Ponce hosting the Atenienses de Manatí at the Salvador Dijols court at 8:00 p.m.
