Volleyball World Announces Stops for 2026 Beach Pro Tour
January 30, 2026.- Volleyball World has today announced the official
schedule for the 2026 Beach Pro Tour, confirming a global calendar
of Elite and Challenge events running from March to August across
four continents. The 2026 season will bring world-class beach
volleyball to both iconic destinations and emerging markets,
reinforcing the sport’s growing global reach.
The
Beach Pro Tour is the world’s premier international beach volleyball
circuit, featuring a season-long series of Elite and Challenge
events contested by the sport’s best athletes. Backed by an
additional USD 100,000 FIVB investment per tournament, the Tour has
expanded Main Draw sizes to up to 24 teams per gender at Elite
events and 32 teams per gender at Challenge events. The expanded
fields have driven increased prize money, now USD 400,000 at Elite
events and USD 250,000 at Challenge events, while continuing to
guarantee equal prize money for men and women, reinforcing
Volleyball World and FIVB’s commitment to gender equality.
The
tour will kick off in March in Bhubaneswar, India, before moving to
João Pessoa, Brazil for the first Elite event of the season. Mexico
will host back-to-back Challenge tournaments in Tlaxcala and Nayarit,
followed by a strong Elite Brazilian leg with Saquarema alongside
Brasília. Asia will also welcome back Challenge events in Xiamen,
China and Nuvali in the Philippines, before the tour returns to
Europe for events in Ostrava, Alanya and the iconic Gstaad, marking
the 26th year of beach pro volleyball in the Swiss mountains.
The
latter part of the season will see Challenge competition continue in
Shangluo, and Elite competitions in Rio de Janeiro, Hamburg, and
Montreal, Canada.
The
2026 Beach Pro Tour will feature many of the sport’s leading
athletes, including the reigning FIVB Beach Volleyball World
Champions, as the Tour builds on a 2025 season that welcomed more
than 200,000 fans across Beach Pro Tour events.
Among the women’s teams to watch are Olympic champions Ana Patricia
Ramos & Eduarda Lisboa (Duda) of Brazil and World Champions Tina
Graudina & Anastasija Samoilova of Latvia. Also competing are the
world’s current top three ranked teams: Carol Solberg & Rebecca
Cavalcanti of Brazil, Thamela Coradello & Victoria Lopes of Brazil
and Kristen Nuss & Taryn Brasher of the USA. In addition,
Switzerland’s sister duo Anouk Vergé-Dépré and Zoé Vergé-Dépré,
Germany’s Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann, Italy’s Valentina
Gottardi and Reka Orsi Toth, and Canada’s Melissa Humana-Paredes and
Brandie Wilkerson will all be competing for titles.
Olympic and World Champions David Ahman & Jonatan Hellvig of Sweden,
their prodigy compatriots Jacob Holting Nilsson & Elmer Andersson
and the world’s number one team Anders Mol & Christian Sorum of
Norway will highlight the men’s lineup for Beach Pro Tour 2026.
Germany’s Nils Ehlers & Clemens Wickle, Evandro Oliveira & Arthur
Mariano Lanci of Brazil, Cherif Younousse & Ahmed Tijan of Qatar,
and the newly paired Taylor Crabb & Andrew Benesh will be taking
part across the calendar of events.
The
vast majority of Elite events in 2026 will feature draws of up to 24
teams, while Challenge tournaments will include 32 teams, providing
a competitive pathway for established stars and rising talent to set
new records.
In
November 2026, the new FIVB Beach World Series will replace the
Beach Pro Tour as the premier beach volleyball competition. The
series will feature a curated selection of ten of the world’s
leading sports and entertainment destinations, each contributing its
own identity to a global journey that celebrates beach volleyball as
both an elite sport and shared experience. More details will be
shared in the coming months.
