RIMINI, Italy, May 27, 2021 – Sarah
Wilhite registered a match-high 25 points as
United States beat Brazil 3-1 (25-17, 25-18,
23-25, 25-22) in a match between undefeated
teams in the third day of actions at the FIVB
Volleyball Women’s Nations League on Thursday.
For the Americans the victory was their
third in a row after dispatching Dominican
Republic and Canada both in straight sets.
Brazil fell to a 1-2 win-loss record following
3-1 victory over Canada and 3-0 against the
Dominican side.
Jordan Larson and Andrea Drews each
contributed 16 points in the victory while
middle blockers Foluke Akinradewo and Haleigh
Washington chipped in with 10 points each.
Fernanda Garay topped the offense of
Brazil with 18 points, followed by Gabriela
Guimaraes and Tandara Caixeta with 16 and 13
points, respectively. |
