Women of Nicaragua and Guatemala with good start
CIUDAD GUATEMALA, July 12, 2019 - The couples of
Nicaragua 1 and Guatemala 1, started the XII Central American
U21 Beach Volleyball Championship, with double victories. The
tournament is held on the sand courts of Campo Marte in the
Guatemalan capital.
The Nicaraguans Lourdes Lugo and Anielka Alonzo
defeated 2 sets to 0 (21-11, 21-12) early in the morning to the
couple from Guatemala 2 composed of Ana Arévalo and Joselyn
Muñoz. In the afternoon they dispatched Hondurans Shanna Rivera
and Reer James, also by 2-0 with partials of 21-17 and 21-16.
On the other hand, the current Central American
champions, Paola Alvarado and Laura Quiñonez of Guatemala, won
the first game of the day over Costa Rica 2 (Valeria Matarrita /
Irene Gómez) with a score of 21-15 and 21-19. In the afternoon
they beat Panama integrated by Karla Ortiz and Yeilin Hernández
with partial 21-13 and 21-6.
