Young bombers of the EVCA vie for U23 title
ST JOHNS, Antigua, July 7 2016 - St. Johns Antigua will host
the2016, Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) U23
Male Volleyball Championships.
Some seven (7) countries are vying for this prestigious title.
These countries are Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Dominica,
Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Marteen and hosts Antigua and Barbuda.
While each team will fancy their chances of walking away as
champions, traditional power houses, St. Lucia and Antigua will
be licking their chops at becoming winners.
The winner of this tournament will advance to the Pan American
Cup to be held in Mexico from September 3-11, 2016. Second place
will participate in the CAZOVA U23 championship from August 11
to 15. Hence each team must play as if there is no tomorrow as
“to the victor goes the spoils”.
In speaking with President Jacobs (SXM), he was of the opinion
his team could emerge winners and steal the show. The Bermudian
and St. Lucian Presidents were much more subdued in their
opinion as they indicated their teams should do well. |
