Cubans Diaz/Gonzalez claim the men’s Gold at Gatorade Guatemala BVB

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, May 4, 2014. -  Cuban Nivaldo Diaz/Sergio Gonzalez claimed the Gold Medal at the Gatorade Guatemala BVB Tournament, the second stop of the 2014 NORCECA Tour, defeating William Montgomery/ Stafford Slick USA-A in straight sets 21-17, 21-15. Diaz/Gonzalez began the tournament strong and finished even stronger, making their debut in the 2014 season a remarkable one. Hughes and Engle triumph at Gatorade Guatemala BVB

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, May 4, 2014.- Heather Hughes and Christal Engle of USA-B triumphed at the Gatorade Guatemala BVB Tournament, beating Karen Cope/Natalia Alfaro of Costa Rica by 2-1 (21-14, 24-26, 15-0). Hughes/Engle took the gold without having to finish the third set, as Natalia Alfaro suffered a bee sting and was unable to continue. American duos to meet in men’s semifinals

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, May 3, 2014. – USA’s Teams William Montgomery/Stafford Slick and Derek Olson/Devin McColloch will meet in men’s semifinals at the Gatorade Guatemala BVB tournament, the second leg of the 2014 NORCECA Tour. Completing the list of final four are Cubans Nivaldo Diaz/Sergio Gonzalez and Puerto Ricans Roberto Rodriguez/Erik Haddock. Gatorade Guatemala BVB pool play set to start   

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, May 1, 2014. - The Gatorade Guatemala BVB Tournament, the second leg of the 2014 NORCECA Tour begins this Friday with pool play actions at Campo Marte in Guatemala City. The General Technical Meeting, chaired by NORCECA Supervisor Marta Centeno de Sajche, capped the Thursday’s program which also included the preliminary inspection and the official registration of participating teams.
