Americans Ross, Day catch gold

MISSION BEACH, Trinidad, November 18, 2012 - The USA-1 team of World University champions, Summer Ross and Emily Day lived up to their pre-tournament favourites billing by taking the gold medal in the tenth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit women’s competition at Mission Beach, Toco on Sunday.Coming up against fellow Americans, Tealle Hunkus and Tracylyn Weamer (USA-2), in the gold medal under sunny and humid conditions and in front of a partisan crowd, Ross and Day stormed to a 21-17, 21-15 victory. William Montgomery spikes gold again

MISSION BEACH, Trinidad, November 18, 2012 - USA-1 pairing of William Montgomery and Antonio Ciarelli overcame Nicaragua’s duo of Gerald Umana and Henry Hernandez in two sets for the gold medal in the tenth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit men’s tournament at Mission Beach, Toco on Sunday. In the championship decider of the 16-team tournament, Montgomery who won last week in St Lucia with a Jonathan Mesko paired with Ciarelli this time to secure a 21-10, 21-11 victory.  More  Español

USA-1, USA-2 reach women semis in Toco

MISSION BEACH, Trinidad, November 17, 2012 - The USA-A team of recently crowned World University champions, Summer Ross and Emily Day, and the USA-B duo Tealle Hunkus and fan favourite Tracylyn Weamer both advanced to the semifinals of the tenth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit at Mission Beach, Toco on Saturday. Ross and Day started off day two of the tournament with a 21-6, 21-4 triumph over Grenada’s Yenelsi Rincon and Akida Peters to top their three-team Pool B round-robin series with a 2-0. Nicaragua, USA-1 book semis berths

MISSION BEACH, Trinidad, November 17, 2012 - Nicaraguan duo, Gerald Umana and Henry Hernandez, and USA-1 pairing William Montgomery and Antonio Ciarelli have secured spots in the semifinal round of the tenth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit at Mission Beach, Toco on Saturday. The Central American pair of Umana and Hernandez broke the hearts of top ranked local pair, TRI-1, Fabien Whitfield and Daneil Williams 24-22, 12-21, 18-16 in the first of two main draw quarterfinals. USA-B leads four teams into women’s quarters

MISSION BEACH, Trinidad, November 16, 2012 - The USA-B combination of Tealle Hunkus and Tracilyn Weamer led a quartet of teams into the quarterfinal round of the tenth stop on the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit women's competition at the scenic Mission Beach, Toco on Friday. Playing in a three-team Pool A round-robin series in the 11-team tournament, Hunkus/Weamer first defeated Canada's Kimberly Dalcourt and Rosalie Sinanan 21-4, 21-7 in 24 minutes to serve notice to their other challengers before beating the TRI-B.  More  Español

Nicaragua, T&T-1 men win two in two

MISSION BEACH, Trinidad, November 16, 2012 - The men's team of hosts Trinidad &Tobago-1 and Nicaragua won their two matches contested on the opening day on the tenth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit which served off under mixed weather conditions at Missions Beach on Friday. The Trinidadians Fabien Whitfield and Daniel Williams, who train at the venue on a daily basis, booked a main draw quarterfinal spot against Nicaraguans, Gerald Umana and Henry Hernandez. The local pair first defeated Dominica’s David Toussaint and Julian Seraphine 21-8, 21-10. Record seven T&T teams for BVB Tournament 

MISSION Beach, Trinidad, November 14, 2012 - Fabien Whitfield and Daneil Williams head a record seven entries from hosts Trinidad & Tobago registered to compete in the tenth leg of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit at the scenic Mission Beach, Toco from Friday until Sunday. The Toco-born pair of Whitfield and Williams, coming a season-best fourth placed at the ninth leg in St Lucia last month, qualified as the top local seeds for this weekend’s event, the first in T&T since 2007, by topping a four-man qualifying tournament on Sunday.  More

World University Champions to play in Mission Beach

MISSION BEACH, Trinidad, November 12, 2012 – USA’s Emily Day and Summer Ross, winners of the women’s gold medal at the World University Games in Brazil last September, are registered to take part in the Trinidad and Tobago Beach Volleyball Tournament from November 16-18. This will be the tenth stage of the 2012 NORCECA Circuit equaling the highest total of tournaments in one season in the history.
