Jennings/Slick dethrone Ontiveros/Virgen
TOLUCA, Mexico, June 9, 2013 - Casey Jennings and Stafford Slick
the number two pair of United States scored a 2-1 (21-17, 16-21,
17-15) victory over defending champions Mexico’s Lombardo
Ontiveros/Juan Virgen, winners of the past two stages of the
2013 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit. In a game full of excitement and big plays, Jennings/Slick won
the first set 21-17 over the Mexicans, who had the support of
more than two thousand people who filled the Beach Volleyball
Stadium at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. In
the second set, Ontiveros/Virgin prevailed 21-16, but the third
was for Americans 17-15.

Big Day for United States
TOLUCA, Mexico, June 9, 2013- Emily Day and Whitney Pavlik of
United States, claimed the women’s gold medal at the Toluca
Tournament, the fourth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball
Circuit Beach, overcoming Martha Revuelta and Bibiana Candelas
of Mexico-A in three sets (15-21, 21-15, 17-15) on Sunday. The Beach Volleyball Stadium at the Autonomous University of the
State of Mexico, was sold out and the crowd cheered for Revuelta
and Candelas, who took the first set only to see Day and Pavlik
to best them in blocking and good defense to win the next two.

México and Estados Unidos to semi finals
TOLUCA, Mexico, June 8 2013 - Mexico and United States advanced
with two teams each to the semifinals of the fourth stop of the
NORCECA Circuit Beach Volleyball, but only one from each country
will advance to Sunday's final match. In the quarterfinals, Mexico-A of Martha Revuelta and Bibiana
Candelas won 21-11, 21-15 over Diana Peguero and Nairobi
Agramonte of Dominican Republic, and will play in semifinals
with Mexico-B which offered the biggest surprise when Vanessa
Virgin/Stephanie Burnside won 12-21, 21-15, 15-10 to Kacie
McTavish/Caleigh Whitaker of Canada-A, the winners of the gold
medal in Guatemala during .

Strong start for Mexico,
Canada and
USA
TOLUCA, México, June 7, 2013 - The
number one teams of
Mexico, Canada and
United States had a strong start
winning their two matches of Friday in the first day of action
at the NORCECA Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament in Toluca. In Pool A, Heather Hughes/Summer Ross of USA 1 won 21-12, 21-14
over Vanessa Virgen/Stephanie Burnside, of Mexico 2 and came
back in the afternoon to cruise 21-8, 21-9 against Nicaragua’s
Elia Torrez and Swan Mendoza. The second place will be defined
between Mexico 2.

Toluca full house for Tour NORCECA Beach Volleyball
TOLUCA, Mexico, June 6, 2013. - Teams from 17 countries are
meeting in that city to compete at the fourth stop of the 2013
NORCECA Beach Volleyball which will start this Friday with their
first matches in the excellent Court at the University Mexico
State Autonomous. Three couples in Mexico, USA and Canada with
two, are the countries that have greater representation in the
women's event, while in male,
Mexico,
Canada and the United States have two pairs each. The teams will
play in the form of groups before moving on to a single
elimination box. In 16 pairs women are divided into four groups,
highlighting the group C with Mexico 1 Costa Rica, Canada 2
United States 2. In males, with 15 couples.

Virgen and Ontiveros seek third gold in a row
TOLUCA, Mexico, June 4, 2013 – Mexicans Lombardo Ontiveros and
Juan Virgen will be seeking for a third men’s consecutive
victory in the 2013 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit when the
stars of the sand get back into action at the double-gender
Toluca Tournament, the fourth competition of the year. The feat
has been accomplished three times in the history of the circuit,
twice by Virgen combined with Aldo Miramontes in 2009 and 2010
and by Puerto Rican Roberto Rodriguez with three different
partners in 2012. Ontiveros and Virgen will be also defending
champions in Toluca as they won last year’s gold by defeating
Cubans Karell Peña and Sergio Gonzalez (21-15, 21-19) who will
be again among the contenders here.
