Cubans Echeverría and Martinez win second title of the year
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 23, 2017 – Cubans Lidiannis
Echeverria and Leila Martinez captured their second gold medal
of the year in as many attempts by winning the women’s segment
of the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball Tournament at Seven Mile
Beach on Sunday. Echeverria and Martinez, who had won the
opening event of 2017 NORCECA Circuit two weeks ago in La Paz,
Mexico, prevailed in a three-setter against Jace Pardon and Lara
Dykstra of United States-B 2-1 (21-13, 18-21, 15-9).

Cubans Peña and Quesada are two-for-two this year
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 23, 2017 – Cubans Karell
Peña and Daisel Quesada recovered from losing the first set to
claim the men’s gold medal of the Cayman Islands Beach
Volleyball Tournament with a three-set victory over Canadians
Maverick Hatch and Garrett May on Sunday. The veteran Peña and
the up-and-coming Quesada won their second gold medal in a row
with a 2-1 (18-21, 21-16, 15-6) victory. They had also won the
first event of the NORCECA Circuit two weeks ago in La Paz,
Mexico. Peña/Quesada edged Mark Burik and William Kolinske of
United States 2-0 (21-16, 21-17)

Flint & Larsen among women’s semifinalists in Cayman Islands
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 22, 2017 – Defending
champions Betsi Flint and Kelley Larsen of USA-A advanced to the
women’s semifinals of the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball
Tournament where they will face compatriots Jace Pardon and Lara
Dykstra on Sunday morning.
The other semifinal contest will have top-seeded Cubans
Lidiannis Echeverria.

Cubans Peña and Quesada to Final Four in Cayman Islands
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 22, 2017 – Top-seeded Cubans
Karell Peña and Daisel Quesada advanced to the men’s semifinals
of the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball Tournament, the second
stop of the 2017 NORCECA Circuit. Winners of the first event of
the year two weeks ago in La Paz, Mexico, Peña/Quesada cruised
past St Clair Hodge and Kemoroy Percival of St Kitts & Nevis 2-0
(21-4, 21-10).

Pardon & Dykstra score two wins on day one at Grand Cayman
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 21, 2017 – USA-B team of
Jace Pardon and Lara Dykstra captured two victories in the
opening day of the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball Tournament,
the second leg of the 2017 NORCECA Circuit on Friday at Seven
Mile temporary complex.
The tandem of Pardon/Dykstra first defeated Jamie Broder and
Caleigh Whitaker of Canada-A 2-0 (21-18, 21-15) and completed
their day with an overwhelming 2-0.

Guatemalans Leonardo & Garcia survive two three-setters
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 21, 2017 – Guatemalans Andy
Leonardo and Luis Garcia survived two battles of three sets each
as one of the three teams who scored a pair of victories in the
men’s side of the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball Tournament on
Friday. Leonardo and Garcia who reached the quarterfinals two weeks ago
in La Paz, Mexico, outplayed St Clair Hodge and Kemoroy Percival
of St Kitts & Nevis 2-1.

Quesada and Peña to play early match at Cayman Islands

Quesada and Karell Peña, winners of the first competition of the
year in La Paz, Mexico, will step into the sand on early Friday
in one of the first men’s matches of Cayman Islands Beach
Volleyball, the second leg of the 2017 NORCECA Circuit.

Beach Volleyball teams in Cayman Islands for ninth consecutive
year
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 19, 2017 – The Cayman
Islands Beach Volleyball Tournament, second stop of the 2017
NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit, gets underway on Friday
featuring twelve pairs per gender including the champions in La
Paz, Mexico two weeks ago.
The pearly-white sands of the Seven Miles Beach temporary beach
volleyball complex will be the competition site for ninth
consecutive year with teams hailing from eleven countries.
