Women's teams from Mexico, the Virgin Islands, and the United States get off to a smooth start in Paramaribo

PARAMARIBO, Suriname, July 25, 2025 – Mexico's Susana Torres/Atenas Rodríguez, the Virgin Islands' Melanie Valenciana/Cristina Almeida, and the United States' Piper Perch/Erin Inskeep started the fifth stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour unbeaten, held for the first time in Suriname at the Telesur Cul Complex in Paramaribo. In Group A, Valenciana/Almeida defeated Margaret Ketura and Charis Frankel of Suriname 2-0 (21-16, 21-16) with identical scores. In the same group, Mexicans Susana Torres and Atenas Gutierrez, who have finished second in the previous four matches, easily defeated Ketura/Frankel 2-0 (21-6, 21-14). Piper Perch and Erin Inskeep of the United States won both of their matches in Group B, first against Janneke Tammenga and Chagnaz Frakel of Suriname 2-0 (21-10, 21-5), and in the second, they spectacularly defeated sisters Kayleen and Emma Glagau of Canada 2-1 (18-21, 21-17, 15-6). Mexico, Canada, and the two American teams are undefeated in the men's division

PARAMARIBO, Suriname, July 25, 2025.- The Mexican, Canadian, and both of American teams started their participation undefeated in the fifth leg of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, which kicked off successfully this Friday on the sand courts installed at the Telesur Cul Complex in Paramaribo, Suriname. Brothers Taylor and Trevor Crabb won both of their matches in Group A, the first against Elkreen Morton/Zendai Richards of Saint Kitts 2-0 (21-10, 21-17), and in the second they easily defeated Suriname's Joshua Dwarkasing/Ethan Asimia 2-0 (21-12, 21-8). In Pool B, fellow Americans Derek Bradford and Zephir Dew defeated (SUR) Dean Kasdi and Anferney Schmeltz 2-0 (21-13, 21-16), and in the same pool, Canada's Cameron Chadwick and Robert Kemp easily defeated Kasdi and Schmeltz 2-0 (21-12, 21-6). The only men's match of the day that went to a maximum of three sets was in Pool C, won by Mexicans Antonio Lares and Carlos Ayala, who defeated David Pinas and Keven Sporkslede of Suriname 2-1 (21-10, 10-21, 17-15). 16 Duos to Compete in NORCECA Beach Tour in Suriname

PARAMARIBO, Suriname, July 24, 2025. – A total of 16 teams from 6 different countries will compete in the fifth stage of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, an event being held for the first time ever in Suriname, with the Telesur Cul Complex in Paramaribo serving as the venue. Nine men's teams and seven women's teams confirmed their participation during the preliminary meeting held on Thursday. All pairs will give their best in the preliminary round, which kicks off this Friday at 10:00 AM, aiming to advance from the group stage to the knockout rounds. A total of 12 matches, six per gender, are scheduled for the opening day. The preliminary round will conclude on Saturday, along with the quarterfinals.
