Cuba clinches Olympic spot with win over Canada 

MONCTON, Canada, September 19, 2026. – Cuba is headed to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games after defeating Canada
Saturday at the NORCECA Olympic men’s qualification tournament. Cuba won 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 25-22) to earn the continental spot at the Games, where they will join host United States, Asian champion Japan and nine other countries.  After a somewhat comfortable win in the first set, Cuba led by as much as five in the second before Canada charged back to tie it 22-22. Mexico captures third place in Olympic qualification tourney

MONCTON, Canada, September 19, 2026. – Mexico topped Dominican Republic in straight sets Saturday to take the bronze medal in the NORCECA Olympic qualification tournament. Mexico beat the upstart Dominicans 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-23) to wrap up their time at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, Canada. Dominican Republic had surprised the Mexicans with an upset win in Monday’s continental championship quarter-final but could not repeat the feat despite leading briefly in the second set and for much of the third. Cuba on to Olympic qualification final with win over Dominican Republic

MONCTON, Canada, September 18, 2026. – Cuba will face Canada with a Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games spot on the line after a NORCECA qualification semifinal win over Dominican Republic Friday. Cuba beat the Dominicans 3-0 (32-30, 25-19, 25-15) at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, Canada, to advance to Saturday’s 7 p.m. Atlantic Time final against the host country. The underdog Dominicans continued to be the surprise of the week, and had six set points in the first set, but Cuba held them off to win. Cuba held the major edge in attacks (51-35) and blocks (16-7), and also had one more ace (4-3) than Dominican Republic. More  Español

Canada beats Mexico to advance to Olympic qualification final

MONCTON, Canada, September 18, 2026. – Canada is one win away from a ticket to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games after beating Mexico in NORCECA qualification semifinal action Friday. Canada won 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-13) in front of a friendly crowd at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, Canada, to advance to Saturday’s final against the winner of Cuba vs. Dominican Republic. The home side got off to a slow start, falling behind 14-9 in the first set. But the Canadians dug their way out of that hole and equalized 16-16 on Sharone (Sho) Vernon-Evans’s kill, then scored nine of the next 14 points for the win. Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico Compete for LA28 Olympic Berth

MONCTON, Canada, September 17, 2026.- Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Mexico will compete for a single berth to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games at the NORCECA Men’s Olympic Qualification Tournament, to be held September 18-19 at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, Canada. The four teams qualified by finishing among the top teams at the 2026 NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship, held September 11-16 at the same venue. Top performers recognized as Men’s Continental Championship concludes
 

MONCTON, Canada, September 16, 2026 – Several individual award winners received tournament honors on the court as the NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship wrapped up in Moncton, Canada. Erik Shoji of Team USA was named most valuable player of the tournament, while Mexico’s Diego González and Dominican Republic’s Enger Miguel Mieses claimed two awards each. Gonzalez was named best opposite and best scorer with a tournament-high 80 points (68 kills, seven blocks and five aces). Mieses, with 63 digs, earned best digger and best libero honours. Cuba garnered three awards, with Alexis Wilson taking best blocker with 21, Christian Manuel Thondike best setter with 167 running sets through the week and Miguel Lopez second-best spiker.   More  Español

United States wins NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship

MONCTON, Canada, September 15, 2026. – Mexico swept Curaçao on Tuesday at the NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship to advance to a fifth-place matchup with Puerto Rico. After a disappointing quarterfinal loss to Dominican Republic Monday, Mexico bounced back with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) win over Curaçao at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, Canada. Puerto Rico tops Guatemala to advance to fifth-place match

MONCTON, Canada, September 15, 2026. – Puerto Rico moved on to the fifth-place match with a straight-sets win over Guatemala Tuesday at the NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship. Puerto Rico beat Guatemala 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-15) as the classification round got underway at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, Canada. After dropping the first set, Guatemala’s best chance came in the second set, when they held an early lead and stayed within one or two points until late. But they ultimately remained winless at the tournament and will play in the seventh-place game at 11 a.m. Atlantic Time Wednesday. More  Español

Dominican Republic stuns Mexico in NORCECA Championship quarterfinal

MONCTON, Canada, September 14, 2026: Dominican Republic upset Mexico today and will advance to the semifinal of the NORCECA Men’s Championship at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. After a decisive first-set win, Mexico fell 1-3 (25-16, 19-25, 19-25,19-25) to the Dominican squad in the quarterfinal. Dominican’s opposite Adrián Figueroa Lantigua led all scoring with 25 points (19 kills, 4 blocks and 2 aces) followed by teammate Héctor Alexis Cruz with 20 points (18 attacks and 2 aces). Cuba advances to NORCECA Championship semis

MONCTON, Canada, September 14, 2026: Cuba will advance to the semifinals of the NORCECA Men’s Championship at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Today, they beat rivals Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-14) in the quarterfinals. Although Puerto Rico stayed within reach in the first two sets, overall Cuba gained more points from attacks (40-37), blocks (8-6) and aces (6-2).  Puerto Rico also made more errors (21-13). MONCTON, Canada, September 13, 2026. – Puerto Rico closed out its group stage schedule on a winning note Sunday at the NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship. After losses to the United States and Canada, the Puerto Ricans bounced back with a 3-0 win (25-18, 25-22, 25-23) over Curaçao. MONCTON, Canada, September 13, 2026: Dominican Republic earned its first win today at the NORCECA Men’s Championship today at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.The Caribbean nation’s team beat Guatemala 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-15) in both teams’ final Group B match.Guatemala is 0-3 in the tournament and will not be in contention for a World Cup berth, which is reserved for the top 3 overall in the Championship.Opposite Adrián Figueroa Lantigua was match top scorer today with 19 points (17 kills, 1 block and 1 ace).Guatemala’s Carlos López Santiago was the losing sides top scorer with 12 points (11 attacks and a block). MONCTON, Canada, September 12, 2026: Mexico is now 2-0 after beating Curaçao 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-18) at the NORCECA Men’s Championship today at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. After Mexico made quick work of the first set, Curaçao was able to put pressure on Mexico in the second taking an early lead, but Mexico evened it up at 14 and was able to successfully close the set. MONCTON, Canada, September 12, 2026: Cuba earned its second win in pool B of the NORCECA Men’s Championship today at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Today Cuba (2-0) powered by Guatemala 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-10). Cuba dominated in all skills - attack points 43-23, blocks 11-1, and aces 6-1. Cuba also made fewer errors 12-15. Cuba’s Osniel Mergarejo Hernandez, Marlon Yant, Daniel Martínez Campos and Alexis Wilson Velazquez all contributed eight points to Cuba’s win. Mexico defeats Puerto Rico in four sets to open Pool A at NORCECA Men’s Championship

MONCTON, Canada, September 11, 2026 – Mexico started the NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship off on the right foot with a 3-1 (26-24, 14-25, 25-18, 25-23) victory over Puerto Rico Friday. Mexico eked out two nail-biting set wins, including an impressive fourth-set comeback to clinch the first Group A game of the tournament at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, Canada.  Puerto Rico appeared to take a 25-24 lead in the back-and-forth first set, but a video challenge revealed a net touch that gave Mexico the lead instead. United States opens NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship with win

MONCTON, Canada, September 11, 2026. – The United States opened the 2026 NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship with a comfortable (25-13, 25-13, 25-11) win over Guatemala Friday. The Americans made quick work of their Group B rivals as action got underway at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, Canada. Team USA dispatched Guatemala easily in the first two sets, taking them by identical 25-13 scores, then extended the margin to 25-11 to complete the sweep. The Americans were superior in multiple facets: 43-24 on attacks, 13-1 on aces, and 4-0 on blocks. Men’s Coaches Looking Forward to High-Level Tournament

MONCTON, Canada, September 10, 2026.- Eight teams are in Moncton, Canada, for the 2026 NORCECA Men’s Continental Championship, where three berths to the 2027 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Cup in Poland will be at stake. The tournament will also determine the teams that advance to NORCECA’s final qualification stage for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
