USA’s David Decker Named MVP of the

Men’s U23 Pan American Cup

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 27, 2026.- USA opposite David Decker was named Most Valuable Player of the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup after his team defeated Costa Rica in four sets in Sunday’s gold medal match at the Gimnasio del Palacio de los Deportes Carlos “El Famoso” Hernández.

Decker topped the list of individual award recipients presented at the conclusion of the tournament, where the United States earned its first gold medal in only its second appearance in the competition.

In addition to MVP honors, Decker was awarded Best Opposite and Best Server. His USA teammates Trevor Herget, named Best Receiver and Second Best Spiker, and Cameron Hoying, named Best Setter, also received individual honors.

Costa Rica’s Stanley Grant was recognized as Best Scorer. Malik Britton of the Dominican Republic received the First Best Spiker award, while Guatemala’s Saúl Álvarez was named First Best Blocker.

Mexico captain Diego Ruiz earned the Second Best Blocker award, while Nicaragua’s Osmar Peralta received two honors, Best Digger and Best Libero.

The Men’s U23 Pan American Cup concluded with the United States winning the gold medal, Costa Rica taking silver and Mexico earning bronze. Guatemala finished fourth, the Dominican Republic fifth, El Salvador sixth, Nicaragua seventh, Trinidad and Tobago eighth, and Grenada ninth.
