Gatineau, Canada, July 28.- Puerto Rico kept their winning
campaign at the 12th Men’s Pan American Cup as they
defeated the United States 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 20-25 and 25-14)
at Gatineau’s Robert Guertin Arena. Both teams started out well.
Puerto Rican libero Dennis Del Valle made an almost impossible
save, before Maurice Torres and Steven Morales blocked the USA
attack to keep the match even at eight points.

Men’s Pan American Cup semifinal after they defeated the

their home crowd, Canada started out well and built a narrow
lead over their Caribbean rivals 16-14. Dominican Republic

Cuba to defend men’s title at Pan Am Cup
GATINEAU, Canada, July 11, 2017 – Eight countries divided into
two pools will participate in the XII Men’s Pan American Cup to
be held in Gatineau with competition days from July 25 to 30.
Pool A consists of defending champions Cuba, Dominican Republic,
United States and Mexico while Pool B is composed by Argentina,
Puerto Rico, Canada and Venezuela.Four daily matches will be live video streamed by NORCECA TV and
the whole package can be purchased by only US$13.The pool winners will advance directly to the semifinal phase
while the teams placed second and third will play crossed
matches in quarterfinals.
