USA’s Hall named MVP of U20 Pan American Cup
SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, May 14, 2017 – Thayer Hall of United
States was selected as Most Valuable Player of the U20 Women’s
Volleyball Pan American Cup won by her team on Saturday night
with a straight set victory over Argentina.
Hall was the top scorer for the USA team and third overall with
61 points was the only member of the well balanced American side
awarded during the closing ceremony.

Peru prevailed 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-20) over Chile in their
debut at the U20 Women’s Pan American Cup in Gimnasio Nacional
of San Jose, Costa Rica.
Pool C match showed Peru’s experienced players undoing Chile’s
efforts to catch up. Chile had a good start keeping the score in
set one very close. Peru had their best moment in set two,
moving ahead with less resistance from their opponents.
Chile concludes pool-play win-less (0-2) while Peru (1-0) faces
Cuba (1-0) on Wednesday.

Cuba easily beat Chile 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-12) at the Women’s
U20 Pan American Cup opener on Monday at Gimnasio Nacional of
San Jose, Costa Rica.
Cuba showed their high level game dominating each skill with
superiority, leading 32-13 in kills, 12-3 in blocking and 11-3
in service points. Both teams had similar amount of errors, Cuba
finished with 21 and Chile with 20.
Ailma Cese topped Cuba with 13 points, 11 on kills and 2 blocks.

U20 Women’s Pan Am Cup to get underway
SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, May 6, 2017.-
Members of the control committee of the U20 Women’s Pan
American Cup had a busy day of inspections at San José, Costa
Rica, as the event is set to get underway on May 8.
Inspections were conducted by Jose Luis Jimenez Lao, Competition
Director, who organized visits around the facilities prepared
for the tournament in order to present a full inspection report.
Each control committee member appointed for the event was
responsible to arrange a detailed check list to of their
respective working areas as participating teams began their
arrival to the City.

U20 Pan American Cup grants two tickets to World Championship
SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, May 5, 2017 – The fourth edition of the
U20 Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup will grant two tickets
–one for the top ranked Norceca team and one for the top
qualified South American team- to the FIVB World Championship in
Boca del Rio and Cordoba, Mexico. The nine teams set to compete at San Jose National Gymnasium
have been divided into three pools following the serpentine
system according to their current FIVB rankings.
