Mexican Stephens is the MVP of U19 Boys Pan Am Cup 

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 25, 2017 – Raymond Stephens of Mexico was recognized as Most Valuable Player of the U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup that concluded on Saturday at “Nuevo Leon Gym”. Stephens also won the Best Receiver and Best Server Awards of the tournament that also gave three tickets to the Age Group World Championship to be played in Bahrain.

Mexico wins the U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 25, 2017 – Mexico conquered the II U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup title after beating Chile in straight sets by scores of 25-20, 25-9 and 25-20 in one hour and 8 minutes. Raymond Stephens scored 19 points for Mexico and also claimed the MVP Honors as well as Best Receiver and Best Server distinctions and Miguel Sarabia recorded 14 while Diego Gonzalez and Axel Tellez finished with 10 apiece. For Chile Vicente Ibarra closed with 9 points. Only in the final, Stephens aced seven times of the 13 registered by Mexico against merely 2 by Chile. Mexico also overcame its South American opponent in blocks 9-3 to claim its first Crown.  More  Español

Puerto Rico claims bronze medal in U19 Boys Pan Am Cup 

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 25, 2017 - Puerto Rico won the Bronze Medal after a four setter victory against Colombia by scores of 16-25, 25-18, 25-23 and 27-25 in U19 Boys Pan Am Cup. Gabriel Garcia scored 37 points, while Pedro Molina finished with 22 for Puerto Rico. On the Colombian side, Carlos Llanos topped with 21, while Oliver Murillo scored 13 and captain Raul Rivas finished with 10. Colombia leaded in blocks 14-8 with 10 by Llanos, but Puerto Rico overcame the South Americans. More  Español

Dominican Republic finishes fifth

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 25, 2017 – Dominican Republic finished in fifth place after beating Costa Rica in the last day of actions of U19 Boys Pan American Cup. The Dominican team won 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-18) with a solid performance by Bayron Valdez who had another double-digit day with 20 points and Frantony Segura scored 14. Chile and Mexico to contend for Gold Medal

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 24, 2017 – Mexico, host country of U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup will face Chile in the final for the tournament´s title. Both, Mexico and Chile classified to the FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship to be played in Bahrain. Chile claimed the spot after Mexico defeated Colombia 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 29-31 and 25-19) in one hour and 45 minutes. Raymond Stephens topped with 23 points while Diego González Castaneda finished with 22. Miguel Sarabia scored 15, David Hernández 12, and Axel Tellez tallied 10 por the local team. Chile becomes first finalist of U19 Boys Pan Am Cup

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 24, 2017 - Chile became the first finalist of U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup after beating Puerto Rico in straight sets. Scores were 25-17, 25-21 and 25-21 in one hour and 15 minutes of game. Esteban Mülchi was the best scorer for Chile with 14 units, followed by Julian Zenteno  who scored 10. Nicaragua finishes in seventh place

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 24, 2017 – Nicaragua earned its first win in U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup to finish in seventh place. The Nicaraguan team defeated Jamaica by scores of 18-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-21 and 16-14 in the classification round for places 7th to 9th, in one hour and 48 minutes of game time. Puerto Rico qualifies to U19 PanAm Cup semifinals 

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 23, 2017 - Puerto Rico won against Costa Rica in three sets by scores of 25-14, 27-25 and 25-20 in one hour and 23 minutes of game time. Pedro Molina scored 20 points for Puerto Rico, while Gabriel Garcia registered 16. For Costa Rica, captain Jose Andres Ortiz tallied 9. Puerto Rico overcame its Central American rivals 7-3 in aces and 9-6 in blocks. Captain of Puerto Rico, Gabriel Garcia: “I feel super great, super happy. My team has the experience of qualifying to a World Championship. Colombia advances to semifinals, beats Dominican Republic in five

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 23, 2017 – Colombia advanced to the semifinals of the U19 Boys´ Pan American Cup after defeating Dominican Republic in five sets by scores of 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 20-25 and 15-12 in 2 hours and 24 minutes of game time. Colombian captain Raul Rivas scored 15 points and Oliver Murillo 11. Bayron Valdez Pena scored 41 points and Frantony Segura registered 18 for Dominican Republic, that recovered after a 2-0 deficit to force a tie-breaker, however Colombian adjustements in the fifth gave the South Americans. Jamaica gives a big surprise by defeating Peru 

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 23, 2017 - The team of Jamaica got its first victory in U19 Boys’ Pan  American Cup after beating Peru in straight sets in  the classification round for 7th to 9th places. Jamaica won by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-20 in one hour and eight minutes of game time. Shaver James scored 15 points, while Devounte Bennett registered 11. For Peru, Edilmar Aguirre scored 9 points. Jamaica dominated in blocks 7-3 and capitalized 34 points by error of their South American opponents.   More  Español

Mexico qualifies to U19 Boys’ Pan Am Cup semifinals  

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 22, 2017 - Host team Mexico granted a spot in the second round of U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup and became the third undefeated squad after beating Nicaragua in straight sets on Wednesday night. Scores were 25-18, 25-20 and 25-14. Raymond Stephens closed as scoring leader for Mexico with 11 points while Axel Manuel Tellez and Miguel Sarabia concluded with 10 apiece. For Nicaragua, captain Jonny Zeledon topped with 14 units. MONTERREY, Mexico, March 22, 2017 - Puerto Rico clinched its second victory in U19 Boys´Pan American Cup after beating Colombia in five sets by scores of 13-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-20 y 15 9 con 43 points scored by Gabriel Garcia, while Pedro Molina closed with 16 for the island´s team. Meanwhile on the Colombian side, that opened winning the first set, Carlos Llanos topped with 14 units, Diego Valderrama scored 12 and captain Raul Rivas tallied 10. Captain of Puerto Rico, Gabriel García: “We worked hard to keep the team running high. It was a fast but also a simple work to do, playing as quick as you can. Costa Rica beats Nicaragua in five sets to keep second round expectations 

MONTERREY, México, March 21, 2017 – Costa Rica defeated Nicaragua in five sets and kept its record in 1-1 as well as second round expectations in the U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup. Scores were 22-25, 28-26, 18-25, 25-17 and 15-10. Jonny Zeledón tallied 29 points for  Nicaragua to figure as scoring leader, while his teammate Byron Hernández made 25. Colombia defeats Jamaica in Boys’ U19 Pan Am Cup debut

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 21, 2017.- Colombia opened its participation at the U19 Boys Pan Am Cup with a straight-set victory over Jamaica on Tuesday. The 3-0 (25-10, 25-20, 25-12) win lasted only one hour and three minute. Wing-spiker Diego Valderrama scored 12 points and Colombian captain Raul Rivas added 11 in the victory. For Jamaica, Safon Manning closed with 9. Colombia dominated Jamaica in blocks 8-5. Mariano Salas closed with 6 units for Costa Rica after one hour and eight minutes of game. Mexico served 12 aces against none by Costa Rica and leaded the match 7-2 in blocks. Molina’s six aces lead Puerto Rico over Jamaica

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 20, 2017 - Puerto Rico opened its participation at the II U19 Boys Pan Am Cup with a victory in straight sets against Jamaica by scores of 25-19, 25-15 and 25-15. Despite the defeat in straight sets, for the Jamaican this was a very good experience, after showing pride and a great attitude. Coaches are optimistic about chances at U19 Boys’ Pan Am Cup 

MONTERREY, México, March 19, 2017 – The coaches of the competing teams that begin their participation at the U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup shared their impressions before the beginning of the tournament that serves off on Monday at the “Nuevo Leon Gym”. Mexico with high expectations at Boys’ Pan Am Cup  

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 19, 2017 – The National team of Mexico finished its preparation to participate at the Boys´U19 Pan American Cup with high expectations. The host squad began its preparation for the tournament in early March. The team is composed by a mix of players from seven different states including Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon, Baja California, Jalisco, San Luis Potosi and Nayarit. Coached by Gabriela Alarcon who has shown a solid leadership handling male groups, Mexico looks forward to get one of the two tickets available for the Norceca representatives at this tournament to the age group World Championship to be played in Bahrain. Three spots to U19 World Championship available at Pan Am Cup

MONTERREY, Mexico, March 19, 2017 – Nine teams from the Americas are set to battle for three vacancies available at the U19 Volleyball Boys’ Pan American Cup to the age-group 2017 FIVB World Championship to be held in Bahrain from August 18 to 27.
