Magic in Veracruz’s beach volleyball tournament

The name of the place where the beach volleyball competitions of
the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games took place could

Cuban Martinez and Flores Women Gold Medalists in Veracruz
VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 30, 2014. - Cuban Leila Martinez
and Lianma Flores became the Women Gold Medalists in the
Beach Volleyball Tournament of the XXII Central American and
Caribbean Games defeating Mexico’s Martha Revuelta and
Bibiana Candelas 2-0 (21-18, 21-18).
Leila Martinez and Lianma Flores communicated very well
while performing.

Cuban Diaz and Gonzalez claim the Men’s BVB Gold
VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 30, 2014. - Cuban Nivaldo Diaz and
Sergio Gonzalez claim the Men’s Beach Volleyball Gold Medal
defeating Jackson Henriquez and Jesus Villafañe of Venezuela 2-1
(22-24, 21-19, 15-12), at the XXII Central American and
Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico.
Cubans powerful spikes and Venezuela’s audacity were at works.

VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 29, 2014. - Nivaldo Diaz and Sergio
Gonzalez of Cuba will play against Jackson Henriquez and Jesus
Villafañe of Venezuela for the Men’s Beach Volleyball Gold Medal
at the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games of Veracruz,
Mexico.
Nivaldo Diaz and Sergio Gonzalez won a thrilling semifinal to
Puerto Rico’s Roberto Rodriguez and Erick Haddock by 2-1 (18-21,
21-14, 15-7).

VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 29, 2014. - Mexican Martha Revuelta
and Bibiana Candelas will face Cuban duo of Leila Martinez and
Lianma Flores in the Women’s Gold Medal Match of the XXII
Central American and Caribbean Games of Veracruz, Mexico.
Mexico reached the Gold Medal Match beating Venezuelan Olaya

VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 28, 2014. - Costa Rica, Venezuela,
Cuba and Mexico won their quarterfinal matches to reach the
women’s Final Four of the Beach Volleyball Tournament at the
XXII Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico.
Costa Rica’s Karen Cope and Natalia Alfaro were the first team
to make the final cut, beating Nancy Joseph/Ayanna Dyette of
Trinidad and Tobago.

Mexico and Guatemala became Pool winners in the men’s Beach
Volleyball Tournament of the XXII Central American and Caribbean
Games in Veracruz, Mexico.

Fabien Whitfield/Daneil Williams of Trinidad and Tobago 2-0
(21-15, 21-9) topping Pool A, while Venezuelan Jackson Henriquez
and Villafañe Jesus battled strongly to beat Dominicans.

Women’s Quarterfinals defined in Veracruz
VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 27, 2014.- The top eight teams to
advance to the quarterfinal of the Women’s Beach Volleyball
Tournament of the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games were
defined the conclusion of Pool Play actions at Veracruz.
Costa Rica, Mexico, Venezuela and Cuba advanced as Pool winners,
while Nicaragua, Trinidad and Tobago, Guatemala and St. Kitts
and Nevis complete the list of eight finalists.
Costa Rica’s Karen Cope/Natalia Alfaro defeated El Salvador’s
Kathya Vasquez/Maria Fernanda Vargas 2-0.

Top Women duos begin with double victories
VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 26, 2014. – Top Women duos start off
Pool Play actions with a double victory at the BVB Tournament of
the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games at Veracruz,
Mexico, that began at Magic Kingdom Park.
Host team Martha Revuelta and Bibiana Candelas won their both
Pool F matches without setbacks. Revuelta/Candelas debuted
beating
Shari Carol Mathews/Anicia Wood of Barbados 2-0 (21-12,
21-16) and to Honduras Marissa Brady/Marie Etches 2-0 (21-8,
21-5).

No surprises in opening day at Men’s BVB
VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 26, 2014. - Opening day in the Beach
Volleyball Men’s division Tournament of the XXII Central
American and Caribbean Games had no surprises with pool play
matches at Magic Kingdom Park in Veracruz.
The preliminary round opened with Puerto Rico’s Roberto
Rodriguez and Erik Haddock in a Pool A victory over Jamaica’s
Christopher Walters/Ryck Mckenzte 2-0 (21-9, 21-12).
Rodriguez/Haddock also defeated Carlos Escobar/David Vargas of
El Salvador 21-14, 21-14.
In Pool B, Venezuelan duo Jackson Henriquez and Villafañe Jesus
finished the day with two.

Beach Volleyball Tournament set to start in Veracruz

Tournament is set to start at the XXII Central American and

BVB courts construction in Veracruz advances
VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 23, 2014. – With four days left of
the double gender Beach Volleyball tournament at the XXII
Central American and Caribbean Games, an inspection by the
NORCECA Control Committee took place on Sunday to check out the
advances in the BVB courts construction at Magic Kingdom Park in
Veracruz.
The assemblage of the courts, the stands and work areas is
ongoing as expected, under the supervision of the Director of
Operations of the Organizing Committee of Veracruz (COVER)
Architect Gabriel. Arquieta is no stranger.

Candelas in Veracruz after second gold medal
VERACRUZ, México, November 23, 2014 - Mexico’s Bibiana Candelas
will be going for her second consecutive beach volleyball gold
medal in the Central American and Caribbean Games when the
sixteen team competition takes place from November 26-30 at
Playa Martí in Veracruz.
Candelas, who claimed the title in the Mayaguez 2010 edition
playing alongside the now retired Mayra García, will partner
with Martha Revuelta, winner of the silver medal in Cartagena
2006.
The tandem of Candelas/Garcia prevailed over the home team of
Yarleen Santiago and Dariam Acevedo winning a two-set battle by
scores of 21-19, 28-26.

celebrate joint meeting

Cristobal Marte Hoffiz along with members of the Control
Committee for the Beach Volleyball Tournament celebrated a joint
meeting with the Organizing Committee of the XXII Central
American and Caribbean Sports Games of Veracruz (COVER).
Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz started by recognizing the efforts of the
COVER members, especially to General Director Carlos Sosa
Ahumada, and of NORCECA’s control committee.
