Adriano Fernandes of Brazil MVP at Junior Pan Am
Games
CALI, Colombia, November 30, 2021. - Adriano
Fernandes received the recognition as the Most
Valuable Player MVP of the Men’s Volleyball
Tournament at the I Junior Pan American Games
after his team won the championship at the
Evangelista Mora Coliseum. Outside hitter
Adriano Fernandes also received two other
awards, as the first best spiker and best
server.

Brazil Champion of the I Junior Pan American
Games
CALI, Colombia, November 30, 2021. - Brazil was
crowned champion of the Men’s Volleyball
Tournament at the I Junior Pan American Games
defeating Mexico 3-0 (25-17, 25-21 , 25-17) on
Tuesday night at the Evangelista Mora Coliseum. Brazil´s
blocking was too much for Mexico, leading with a
huge 15-6 margin; they also held a 5-1 advantage
in serves and committed fewer unforced errors,
14 against 23. Mexico led 37-32 in attacks.

Argentina wins Bronze Medal at Junior Pan Am
Games
CALI, Colombia, November 30, 2021. - Argentina
won the bronze medal of the Men’s Volleyball
tournament at the I Junior Pan American Games
over host Colombia 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-21,
25-17) on Tuesday night at Evangelista Mora
Coliseum. Outside hitter and captain Mauro
Zelayeta led Argentina to win the first Junior
Pan Am Games bronze medal with a tournament-high
of 34 points on 31 kills and 3 blocks, opposite
hitter Lorenzo Nieto and middle blocker Imanol
Salazar contributed with 10 points each.

Five-set win puts Mexico in the title match of
the Junior Pan Am Games

the title match beating Argentina in a five-set
thrilling semifinal 3-2 (25-21, 24-26, 25-22,
23-25, 15-13) at the men’s volleyball tournament
of the I Junior Pan American Games at the
Evangelista Mora Coliseum.

Brazil to play for the I Junior Pan American
Games Gold medal
CALI, Colombia, November 29, 2021.- Brazil will
play for the gold medal of the men’s volleyball
tournament at the I Junior Pan American Games
Cali-Valle 2021 after winning their semifinal
match to host Colombia 3-0 (25-15, 28-26, 25-15)
at Evangelista Mora Coliseum. Brazil progressed
to the title match with a solid performance and
recovering from a five-point deficit (6-11) in
the second set while controlling Colombia’s
dominant attacks with their masterful blocking,
but still Brazil needing three set points.

place

Republic beat Puerto Rico 3-1 (26-24, 22-25,
25-21, 25-16) for fifth place at the men’s
volleyball tournament of the I Junior Pan
American Games Cali-Valle 2021. Dominican
Republic finished the event with a 2-2 record
and Puerto Rico with 1-3.

Chile seventh place at Junior Pan Am Games
CALI, Colombia, November 29, 2021. - Chile
defeated Guatemala in straight sets 3-0 (26-24,
25-20, 25-16) for seventh place in the men’s
volleyball tournament at the I Junior Pan
American Games Cali-Valle 2021. Chile concluded
the event with 1-3 win-loss record and Guatemala
with 0-4 for seventh and eighth positions
respectively.

semifinals
CALI, Colombia, November 28, 2021. - Colombia
beat Puerto Rico 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 25-23,
22-25, 15-7) to face Brazil in semifinals at the
Men’s volleyball tournament of the I Junior Pan
American Games Cali-Valle 2021 at Evangelista
Mora Coliseum. Colombia bounced back from losing
the first set with a dominant display in attacks
in a neck to neck battle that finished in a
tie-break win for the final spot in the
semifinal round.

Argentina to clash with Mexico in semifinals

November 28, 2021. - Argentina finished first of
pool A after defeating Guatemala 3-0 (25-13,
25-12, 25-15) and will face Mexico in semifinals
at the men’s volleyball tournament of the I
Junior Pan American Games at Evangelista Mora
Coliseum. Argentina had no difficulties in
prevailing over Guatemala and advancing into the
semifinals with an undefeated 3-0 record.
Guatemala with 0-3 will face Chile for seventh
place.

November 28, 2021. - Brazil topped pool B
winning a five-set thriller to Mexico 3-2
(19-25, 25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 15-7) in the men’s
volleyball tournament of the I Junior Pan
American Games on Sunday at Evangelista Mora
Coliseum.After a rough start Brazil needed five
sets to subdue Mexican attackers and finish the
preliminary round unbeaten. Both teams advance
to the semifinal round of the tournament.

Argentina undefeated winning tie-break to
Colombia
CALI, Colombia, November 27, 2021.-
Argentina remains undefeated winning a five-set
duel 3-2 (21-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-22, 15-11) to
host Colombia in pool A in the men’s volleyball
tournament of the I Junior Pan American Games at
Evangelista Mora Coliseum. The nail biting
battle was an amazing display of strength on
both sides. Argentina suffered the loss of its
captain Mauro Zelayeta due to a minor injury in
the second set and Colombia as well of middle
blocker Juan Estupiñan in the overtime.

CALI, Colombia, November 26, 2021. - Host
Colombia edged Guatemala 3-0 (25-20, 25-16,
25-14) in pool A in the opening day of the men’s
volleyball tournament of the I Junior Pan
American Games Cali-Valle 2021.
As the match developed, Colombia gained more
confidence and started the competition with the
right foot. Colombia held a huge advantage in
all the elements of the game, attacks (42-26),
blocks (12-2) and serves (6-1). Guatemala
committed 15 unforced errors against 21 from
Colombia.

to late Dr. Rafael Lloreda Currea before the
debut of Colombia at the men’s volleyball
tournament of the I Junior Pan American Games
Cali-Valle 2021. On behalf of the Pan American
Union of Volleyball, its President Cristóbal
Marte Hoffiz accompanied by members UPV
executive committee, of the Colombian Volleyball
Federation and Baltazar Medina President of the
Colombian Olympic Committee, presented a plaque
to his son Rafael Iván Lloreda Hoyos.

American Games Cali-Valle 2021. Argentina had a
rough start losing the first set but recovered
with tenacity to beat a resistant Puerto Rico.
Both teams scored 50 points on attacks and 7
points on blocks, Argentina held a slim 3-2
margin in serves while committing fewer errors
(29-34)..

25-17) victory over Chile at the men's

strong beginning in pool B, prevailing over
Chile with a huge 42-27 advantage in kills, 11-2
in blocks and 4-2 in service points, but
allowing more points (28-18) from unforced
errors than Chile.

Mexico wins gold medal at U23 Cup
SANTO DOMIINGO, Dominican Republic, July 16, 2021 – Mexico
took home the gold medal at the U23 Men’s Volleyball Pan
American Cup after a 3-1 (25-27, 25-26, 26-24, 25-20)
victory over Puerto Rico on Friday night. Josue de Jesus
Lopez collected 20 points as the top scorer of the Mexican
side, including two blocks. Ariel Hernández and Diego
Gonzalez also finished in double figures for the winners
