Gaila González Named MVP of the XXII Pan American Cup

COLIMA, Mexico, August 10, 2025 – Dominican Gaila González was named Most Valuable Player of the XXII Senior Women's Volleyball Cup, which concluded on Sunday at the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Unidad Deportiva Morelos in Colima, Mexico. Ana Olaya of Colombia was honored as the First Best Spiker, and her compatriot, Laura Grajales, was the Second Best Spiker of the tournament. Laura Suárez of Cuba was chosen as the First Best Blocker, while Geraldine González of the Dominican Republic was named Second Best Blocker. The Best Setter award went to Argentina Ung of Mexico, and the Best Opposite award went to her teammate Sofía Maldonado, who was also named Best Scorer. The Best Libero, Best Receiver, and Best Defender awards went to Esmeralda Sánchez of Peru, while Sandra Ostos of Peru also won the Best Server award. More Español

Dominican Republic wins seventh Gold at Pan American Cup

COLIMA, Mexico, August 10, 2025 – The Dominican Republic outclassed Colombia during the gold medal match to claim its seventh title in the history of the Senior Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup by defeating Colombia 3-0 (25-21, 29-27, 25-22) at the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Morelos Sports Complex in Colima, Mexico. It was the twentieth medal overall for the Dominicans, who have also collected ten silver medals and three bronze. Colombia earned its second silver medal, adding to its two bronze medals. The Dominicans led the attack 47-40, Colombia was superior in blocks 14-13, while the two teams tied in serves at one. Gaila González led the champions with 20 points, followed by sisters Brayelin and Jineiry Martínez with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Puerto Rico wins bronze medal in thrilling match

COLIMA, Mexico, August 10, 2025 – Puerto Rico captured the bronze medal at the XXII Senior Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup after a thrilling four-set victory 3-1 (14-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20) over the home team, Mexico, this Sunday at the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Morelos Sports Complex in Colima, Mexico. In the thrilling battle, although Puerto Rico won, Mexico led in all facets of the match, outscoring Puerto Ricans 51-48 in kills, 11-10 in blocks, and 9-4 from the service line. Valeria Vázquez led the winners in points with 18 (16 kills and 2 blocks), followed by Annalee Champion and Paola Santiago with 17 and 11 points, respectively. Venezuela beats Peru for fifth place in Women’s Pan American Cup

COLIMA, Mexico, August 10, 2025.- Venezuela defeated Peru 3-2 (18-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 15-12) in the fifth-place match of the XXII Senior Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup held at the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Morelos Sports Complex in Colima, Mexico. Venezuela held the advantage in blocks 14-10, while Peru led in attacks 67-58 and in serves 7-4. Venezuela committed 26 unforced errors against Peru's 21. Nelmaira Valdez led the winners with 22 points, including 16 kills, 4 blocks, and 2 aces, followed by Winderlys Medina with 19 and Mariangel Vivas, who added 14. Dominican Republic comes from behind to advance to the final in search of its sixth gold medal at the Pan American Cup

COLIMA, Mexico, August 9, 2025.- After losing the first set, the Dominican Republic came back and defeated the host team Mexico 3-1 (28-30, 25-17, 25-18, 25-21) to seek its sixth gold in the XXII Senior Women's Volleyball Pan American Cup being held in Colima, Mexico. The Dominican Republic will play Colombia in the final, while Mexico will compete for the bronze against Puerto Rico. The Dominicans led in blocks 13-10, while Mexico led in attacks 53-52 and in serves 4-2. Gaila González led the Dominicans with 24 points, followed by sisters Brayelin and Jineiry Martínez with 17 and 10 points, respectively. Cuba secured seventh place by defeating Canada

COLIMA, Mexico, August 9, 2025 – Cuba defeated Canada 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-19) this Saturday to secure seventh place in the XXII Senior Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup at the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Morelos Sports Complex in Colima, Mexico. Cuba dominated Canada in attacks 61-50 and in serves 8-6, while the Canadians were superior in blocks 11-10. Mexico Reached the Semifinals by defeating Venezuela

COLIMA, Mexico, August 8, 2025 – Mexico defeated Venezuela 3-1 (28-26, 25-23, 20-25, 25-12) to reach the Semifinals of the XXII Senior Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup, which is being held at the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Unidad Deportiva Morelos in Colima, Mexico.

With this result, Mexico will face the Dominican Republic in the Semifinals, while Venezuela will face Peru for the 5th/6th spots. Mexico held a 55-47 advantage in attacks, producing 11 blocks to 6, while both teams had 3 aces. Three Mexican players scored in double figures: opposite Sofía Maldonado with 18 points, and Jocelyn Urias and Melanie Parra with 16 each. Colombia defeats Peru in straight sets and advances to the Semifinals

COLIMA, Mexico, August 8, 2025 – Colombia defeated Peru in straight sets 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-20) on Friday in the Quarterfinals to reach the Semifinals of the XXII Senior Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup in Colima, Mexico. Colombia is set to face Puerto Rico in the Semifinals, and Peru will play Venezuela for positions 5/6. Colombia dominated the entire match, pressuring Peru both offensively and defensively. The Colombians led in attacks 52-40, in blocks 8-7, and in aces 2-0. Colombia committed 13 unforced errors and Peru 14. Cuba defeats Trinidad Tobago and will play for positions 7/8

COLIMA, Mexico, August 8, 2025.- Cuba defeated Trinidad Tobago 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-13) in the sixth day of the XXII Senior Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup and will play this Saturday for positions 7/8 at the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Morelos Sports Complex in Colima, Mexico. Cuba dominated Trinidad Tobago in attacks 48-15 and in blocks 6-3, while both teams tied in serves at 1 each. With this victory, Cuba will play for positions 7/8 and Trinidad Tobago will go for positions 9/10. Mexico Defeats Puerto Rico and Achieves a Three-Way Tie in Pool A

COLIMA, Mexico, August 7, 2025 – In a hard-fought match, Mexico defeated Puerto Rico 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 30-28), creating a three-way tie in Pool A of the Pan American Volleyball Cup, an event held in Colima, Mexico. Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Peru finished the Pool A round robin all with a 3-1 record. Based on points, Puerto Rico advanced directly to the semifinals, pushing Mexico to second place and Peru to third. Mexico dominated all aspects of the game: attacks 52-45, blocks 15-6, and serves 9-8. For the home team, Sofía Maldonado had 23 points, followed by Melanie Parra with 17 and Grecia Castro with 15. Dominican Republic Advances to Semifinals

COLIMA, Mexico, August 7, 2025.- The Dominican Republic defeated Canada in five sets 3-2 (25-19, 15-25, 25-14, 26-28, 15-10) securing a direct ticket to the XXII Women’s Pan American Volleyball Cup semifinals being held in Colima, Mexico. The Dominicans finished undefeated in Pool B, while Canada finished fourth place with a 1-3 record and will play for positions 7 to 10.  The Dominican Republic led in attacks 53-43 and scored one point more in blocks 12-11, while Canada was stronger in serves 14-12. The Dominican offense was led by Jineiry Martínez with 15 points, followed by Madeline Guillén with 14. COLIMA, Mexico, August 6, 2025.- Colombia defeated Venezuela in consecutive sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-16) at the XXII Pan American Volleyball Cup in Colima, Mexico. With the victory, Colombia ends Group B with a 3-1 record, while Venezuela has one win and two losses. Colombia outscored 52-31 in attacks and 3-1 in serves, while both teams had 7 blocks. Laura Grajales led the scorers for Colombia with 18 points, followed by Ana Karina Olaya and Valerin Carabali with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Brayelin Martínez scores 26 in Dominican victory over Colombia

COLIMA, Mexico, August 5, 2025.– Lead by team captain’s Brayelin Martinez 26 points, The Dominican Republic defeated Colombia 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-16) in the closing match of the Women's Volleyball Pan American Cup this Tuesday in Colima, Mexico. Peru defeats Costa Rica and achieves third victory

COLIMA, Mexico, August 5, 2025 – Peru easily defeated Costa Rica in straight sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-13) to achieve its third victory in as many days at the XXII Pan American Volleyball Cup held in Colima, Mexico. The Peruvians dominated in attacks 49-22 and serves 5-2, while both teams had 6 in blocks. Sandra Ostos had 14 points for Peru, leading the offensive, followed by Coraima Gómez and Karla Ortiz, who contributed 9 and 8 points respectively. Peru coming from behind overcomes Mexico

COLIMA, Mexico, August 4, 2025 – After losing the first set, Peru managed to win the next three sets and defeat in an electrifying match the home team 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-21) to close out the second day of the Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup in Colima, Mexico. With this victory, Peru improves its win-loss record to 2-0 in Group A. Peru outscored Mexico in kills 57-52, while Mexico outscored Mexico in blocks 12-7 and in serves 8-4. Aixa Vigil led the Peruvians with 16 points, followed by Sandra Ostos and Coraima Gómez with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Governor guarantees sporting success at the Pan American Cup

COLIMA, Mexico, August 4, 2025.- Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva guaranteed this Monday the resounding success of the XXII Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup, which will be held in the city of Colima, Mexico, with the participation of 10 countries from the American continent. A lawyer by profession, Governor Vizcaíno made the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Morelos Sports Unit available for the event through the Colima Sports Institute (INCODE), which also provided training for the personnel working at the event. Vizcaíno Silva also coordinated with the Mexican Volleyball Federation to ensure that the personnel working on the court had the knowledge and level required for this type of event. More Español

The Dominican team's standouts were captain Brayelin Martínez and Gaila González with 14 points each, followed by Jineiry Martínez, who added 10. Peru Wins Close Battle Against Cuba

COLIMA, Mexico, August 3, 2025 – Peru recovered from losing the first set to claim a hard-fought 3-2 victory (16-25, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21, 15-11) over Cuba in the second match of the opening day of the XXII Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup on Sunday. Sandra Ostos scored 18 points, including three aces, as the offensive star of the Peruvian team, followed by Karla Ortiz and Aixa Vigil with 15 and 14 points respectively. Colombia blanks Canada to open Pan Am Cup

COLIMA, Mexico, August 3, 2025 – Colombia dominated Canada in straight sets (25-16, 25-15, 20) to open the 22nd Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup at the Colima Multifunctional Auditorium of the Sports Institute in Colima, Mexico. Ana Karina Olaya led the Colombian team on offense with 18 points, followed by Dayana Segovia and Valerin Carabali, who each scored 10. For Canada, Taylor de Boer stood out with 9 points.
