Mexico recovers to defeat Cuba

COLIMA, Mexico, August 6, 2025.- Mexico rallied after losing the first set and defeated Cuba 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-18, 28-26) in the closing match of the Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup this Wednesday in Colima, Mexico. With the victory, the home team improves their record to 2 wins and 1 loss, while Cuba remains winless at 0-3. Mexico dominated in attacks 61-45 and in blocks 10-7, while the serves were tied at 7-7. Sofía Maldonado and Uxue Guereca led Mexico with 23 and 21 points respectively, while Karina Flores added another 16. For Cuba, captain Dezirett Madan had 14 points, followed by Yanisleidis Sánchez with 13, while Ivy May Vila contributed with 11 and Laura Suarez  add 10.  More Español

Colombia Wins 3-0 Against Venezuela

COLIMA, Mexico, August 6, 2025.- Colombia defeated Venezuela in consecutive sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-16) at the XXII Pan American Volleyball Cup in Colima, Mexico. With the victory, Colombia ends Group B with a 3-1 record, while Venezuela has one win and two losses. Colombia outscored 52-31 in attacks and 3-1 in serves, while both teams had 7 blocks. Laura Grajales led the scorers for Colombia with 18 points, followed by Ana Karina Olaya and Valerin Carabali with 16 and 13 points, respectively. For Venezuela, Meriyen Serrano had 8 points and Aleoscar Blanco added 6 more. Guilherme Schmitz, Colombia’s coach: "It was a very good match, we relaxed at times when we had a large lead, but Venezuela closed in on us and we had some difficulties, but the important thing is that we got the win. Puerto Rico Swept Peru

COLIMA, Mexico, August 6, 2025.- Puerto Rico swept Peru 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-14) this Wednesday on the fourth day of competition at the XXII Pan American Volleyball Cup in Colima, Mexico. With the victory, Puerto Rico improved its win-loss record to 3-0, while Peru saw its undefeated streak end and closes Pool A with a 3-1 record. It was a one-sided match, with Puerto Rico dominating in blocking 11-2, aces 4-0, and attacks 42-27. Karla Santos led the winners with 14 points, followed by Decelise Champion with 13, while Neira Ortiz added another 9. Canada Gets First Win

COLIMA, Mexico, August 6, 2025 – Canada easily defeated Trinidad Tobago in straight sets 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-13) in the opening match of Wednesday's round of the XXII Pan American Cup being held at the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Unidad Deportiva Morelos in Colima, Mexico. Raeven Chase had 16 points for Canada, followed by Raya Surinx and Jasmine Rivest with 10 and 9 points respectively. Brayelin Martínez scores 26 in Dominican victory over Colombia

COLIMA, Mexico, August 5, 2025.– Lead by team captain’s Brayelin Martinez 26 points, The Dominican Republic defeated Colombia 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-16) in the closing match of the Women's Volleyball Pan American Cup this Tuesday in Colima, Mexico. The Dominican Republic outscored Colombia in all aspects of the game, in attacks 62-58, in blocks 17-6, and in serves 4-0. Along with Brayelin, her sister Jineiry contributed 16 points. Yonkaira Peña and Geraldine González each added 12, while Gaila González chipped in another 10. Ana Karina Olaya led Colombia with 16 points, followed by Valerin Carabali with 13. Puerto Rico defeats Cuba in five sets

COLIMA, Mexico, August 5, 2025 – Puerto Rico defeated Cuba 3-2 (25-27, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12) in what was the most hard-fought match of the XXII Women’s Pan American Volleyball Cup being held in the city of Colima, Mexico. Cuba led in attacks 66-65, and in blocks 19-16, while Puerto Rico was stronger in serves 7-3. Puerto Rico's offense was led by Diana Reyes with 19 points, followed by Karla Santos with 18, while Dariana Hollingsworth and Paola Santiago contributed 17 and 12 respectively. Venezuela outlasts Canada in thrilling match

COLIMA, Mexico, August 5, 2025.- In a nail-biting match, Venezuela needed five sets to defeat Canada 3-2 (12-25, 25-21, 25-23, 24-26, 15-9) to even their win-loss record at 1-1 at the Women’s Pan American Volleyball Cup in Colima.Venezuela's captain, Roslandy Acosta, and Nelmaira Valdez led the offensive pack with 16 points each, followed by Mariangel Vivas with 14 and Winderlys Medina with 10.For Canada, Madyson Saris had 18 points, followed by Lauryn Hovey and Jasmine Rivest with 15 and 12 respectively.Venezuela outblocked 10-6, while the Canadians led in attacks 60-58 and in serves 11-4.  More Español

Peru defeats Costa Rica and achieves third victory

COLIMA, Mexico, August 5, 2025 – Peru easily defeated Costa Rica in straight sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-13) to achieve its third victory in as many days at the XXII Pan American Volleyball Cup held in Colima, Mexico. The Peruvians dominated in attacks 49-22 and serves 5-2, while both teams had 6 in blocks. Sandra Ostos had 14 points for Peru, leading the offensive, followed by Coraima Gómez and Karla Ortiz, who contributed 9 and 8 points respectively. Peru coming from behind overcomes Mexico

COLIMA, Mexico, August 4, 2025 – After losing the first set, Peru managed to win the next three sets and defeat in an electrifying match the home team 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-21) to close out the second day of the Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup in Colima, Mexico. With this victory, Peru improves its win-loss record to 2-0 in Group A. Peru outscored Mexico in kills 57-52, while Mexico outscored Mexico in blocks 12-7 and in serves 8-4. Aixa Vigil led the Peruvians with 16 points, followed by Sandra Ostos and Coraima Gómez with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

For Mexico, Uxue Guereca led the way with 17 points, while Sofía Maldonado added another 15. More Español

Governor guarantees sporting success at the Pan American Cup

COLIMA, Mexico, August 4, 2025.- Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva guaranteed this Monday the resounding success of the XXII Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup, which will be held in the city of Colima, Mexico, with the participation of 10 countries from the American continent. A lawyer by profession, Governor Vizcaíno made the Multifunctional Auditorium of the Morelos Sports Unit available for the event through the Colima Sports Institute (INCODE), which also provided training for the personnel working at the event. Vizcaíno Silva also coordinated with the Mexican Volleyball Federation to ensure that the personnel working on the court had the knowledge and level required for this type of event. More Español

Dominican Republic remains undefeated in Pan American Cup

COLIMA, Mexico, August 4, 2025 – The Dominican Republic defeated Venezuela in straight sets 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-21), remaining undefeated with a 2-0 record in Pool B of the XXII Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup being held in Colima, Mexico. The Dominicans led in attacks 44-30 and in blocks 9-3, while Venezuela led in serves 4-2. The Dominican team's standouts were captain Brayelin Martínez and Gaila González with 14 points each, followed by Jineiry Martínez, who added 10. For Venezuela, Nelmaira Valdez and Mariangel Vivas led with 11 and 8 points, respectively. Puerto Rico outplayed Costa Rica

COLIMA, Mexico, August 4, 2025 – Puerto Rico improved its win-loss record to 1-0 in the XXII Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup after defeating Costa Rica in straight sets 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-8) on Monday. Annalee Champion led the Puerto Ricans with 11 points, followed by Dariana Hollingsworth, who added 7. Tannia Carrazo had 10 points as the top scorer for Costa Rica, which fell to 0-2. Puerto Rico was superior in attacks 43-20, in blocks 5-2 and in serves 3-1. Juan Carlos Núñez, coach of Puerto Rico: “We didn't start the match in the best way, we weren't synchronized. We haven't played here for two days, so it's a matter of getting into the rhythm a little more. Colombia Sweeps Trinidad Tobago and moves to 2-0

COLIMA, Mexico, August 4, 2025 – Colombia defeated Trinidad Tobago to take a 3-0 victory (25-13, 25-18, 25-11) on the second day of the Women's Volleyball Pan American Cup on Monday. It was the second win in two days for the Colombian team, while Trinidad Tobago fell to 0-2 in the five-team round-robin preliminary phase. Karen Rentería and Emelys Martínez led Colombia on offense with 8 points each, followed by Dayana Segovia and Wendy Vargas with 7, respectively.
